But it doesn’t mean you go through winter with bad skin. After a hectic day,tackling with pollution and makeup, our skin bears a lot. Specially in winters it is more worsen, so we make sure every night to follow small skin care routine before going to bed, which will surely be helpful to you all…
Here are a few tips for glowing skin in winter. Don’t worry, the winter face care tips are not complicated. In fact, they are every day actions that will help your skin face the season with courage.
DON’T SLEEP WITH MAKEUP
As you all know makeup removal should be the most important part of your daily skin care ritual and beauty industry provides us with varied makeup removal products.Even in winter it is equally important to remove your makeup before sleep. Amita prefers deep cleaning, she washes her face with a mild face wash just to clean up all the make up and pollution and Pat dry. Another option which is to massage the oil into your skin in a circular motion all over your face to remove the makeup. Use a warm, wet washcloth or cotton to wipe off excess coconut oil (again, it should come off easily without any skin tugging or rubbing), And voila! You’re done. Coconut oil is just an excellent body moisturizer and defrizzer, so along with removing makeup it helps your skin to moisturize and to keep hydrated.
GENTLY WASHING FACE
The second step is to gently wash your face with your favourite face wash. This step is important after removal of makeup because even after removing makeup there are certain residues still left so to give double cleansing effect you have to just wash your skin with face wash. I use Forest Essentials honey face wash for winters as honey helps in moisturizing skin and keeping the skin plump, cleans skin deeply and also acts as anti ageing factor.
As you all are aware of what wonders toning your skin does to your face so how can this step can be skipped in winter. I use Apple Cider Vinegar as my toner and believe me it just refreshens up my skin. Dilute ACV with same amount of water and dip the cotton and gently spread it around your face and neck and let the skin absorb it. This is the best toner or you can even go for pure rose water toner which are available in the market.
Night is the best time for skin to rejenuvate. In winters special care should be taken of your skin. Coconut oil can be used as best night cream as mentioned above it keeps skin moisturised. I prefer using Cetaphil moisturing lotion as it is medicated with no fragrance which indicates it is chemical free and light on skin too. Don’t skip this step as night cream boosts collagen in your skin. The cream also helps in better blood circulation. The wrinkles and other lines on your face get reduced. Oil therapy is also the best night cream, Amita on regular basis applies olive oil on her hands, legs and face, just a small amount and here she has healthy and soft skin .
For under eyes,I use Castor oil, as the skin under our eyes is more sensitive extra care should be taken. Gently rub the castor oil with the help of your ring finger under the eyes daily before sleeping. Almond oil also helps with wrinkles and stimulates collagen production and increases blood circulation under the eyes. Almond oil is also preferable. Even for chapped lips almond oil does wonders. Apply it every night over the lips and gently massage and you will notice the difference in few days.
Don’t forget to drink atleast 2.5litres of water in a day. keep your skin well hydrated as it will help your skin to glow and to prevent from spots and ageing. Although its winter, but sun is still harsh on skin, so apply medicated sunscreen for day time and not to forget eat healthy foods specially the winter foods.
