Tips to Maintain Vaginal Health

We are sure all ladies out there take good care of their health, makeup, foods to eat and to avoid. But what about the VAGINAL HEALTH???
When you talk about taking good care of your body, you don’t always think about your vagina. But you should — because if you’re good to your lady bits, they’ll be good to you. Maintaining healthy vaginal is must as it is the most sensitive part of women’s body. Here are few tips to practice on maintaining vaginal health

1) SAY YES BUT ONLY TO COTTON UNDIES

Wear breathable cotton underwear and avoid thongs. Avoid wearing tight fitted undies or fabrics which disturbs vaginal area and creates moisture. If you’re prone to yeast infections, change out of wet swimsuits and sweaty workout clothes as quickly as possible. If you are noticing certain discharge or dampness change your undies twice a day. This will make you feel comfortable and will also avoid further infection.

2) DRY PROPERLY
You must always try to keep your vagina dry as the dampness is the root cause of infections. It is always preferred to wipe the vagina with a plain, soft, and unscented toilet paper from the front to the back. If done in the opposite direction, the chances are that you may drag harmful bacteria from the anus to the vagina.

3) EAT HEALTHY
Probiotics are  the healthiest food to eat to cure fungal infections as well as to avoid one. Follow a balanced, nutritious diet and drinking plenty of fluids are both key to vaginal and reproductive health. include foods like yoghurt, berries, cherries which are effective in treating vaginal health. Never clean shave vaginal area, the small hair act as sheild and hence prevent from transfering bacteria while sex.

4) HAVE SAFE SEX
Follow hygiene of washing properly after the intercourse as this may lead to bacteria infecting the vaginal area. Use condoms as it will not only protect you from reproduction and other diseases but will also help in maintaining the ph value of the vagina. Also, vaginal hair plays an imprtant role in protecting your vagina from bacteria and germs during intercourse, so avoid going for bikini wax or clean shave, a normal trim is good to go! While intercourse make sure to use lubricants as dry sex leads to infections again and it disturbs the ph value.

5) EXERCISE
Exercises such as the kegel exercise or cycling help in strengthening the pelvic muscles and thereby helps in maintaining a healthy vagina.

6)SAY NO TO HARSH SOAPS
The normal pH level that must be maintained is between 3.5-4.5 and any imbalance can lead to breeding of bacteria. Washing with plain lukewarm water is enough to clean the vagina and forget to allow it to dry. Vagina is the most sensitive part of the body so utmost care should be taken to avoid the imbalance of PH VALUE.
7) KEEP IT PERIODS FRIENDLY
The chance of getting infection is doubled in days of periods. keep on changing sanitary pads every four to five hours. Use of tampons and menstrual cups should be opted as it does not disturbs the ph value during periods. Rinse properly every time you go for pee.

8) TREAT INFECTION IMMEDIATELY
 If you are someone who are prone to infection and hence you know proper medification then self treating is good but still infection persist visit the doctor immediately. If you notice slightly change in and at your vaginal area don’t delay a doctor visit.  Some infections do not produce any symptoms but start growing. And this is why you might not be aware that you may have a problem. To avoid such a situation, you must visit the gynecologist regularly. Tea tree oil has long been prized for its antifungal properties. Use 1-2dropsof Tea Tree oil into 10-15 drops of regular coconut oil and apply to the infected area regularly for 10days, these is the best home remedy to cure yeast infection.

9)TRIM FREQUENTLY.
Don’t wait for pubic hairs to grow into inches and then trim. Shorter the hair, lower is the chance of infection. So always trim your pubic hair on regular basis. But never clean shave pubic hairs as it may be invitation to infection.

10) MAINTAIN ph VALUE

The  most important is to maintain ph value of vagina and to do so avoid unhealthy food, medicate infection as soon as it appears, have good liquids. Its normal to have certain amount of White Discharge but if it turns yellow or stinks immedietaly visit a doctor as it disturbs the ph value too. A healthy vagina will lead to healthy life.
